PML (N) leader and former speaker of Pakistan's National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq is facing criticism in his own constituency. A prominent leader of former Pakistani prime minister Nawaz Sharif's party, Sadiq recently made controversial remarks in the country's parliament over Pakistan's handling of Indian Air Force (IAF) Wing Commander Abhinandan.
A member of parliament in Pakistan, Ayaz Sadiq recently made a statement in the country's national assembly about the release of Wing Commander Abhinandan. Pakistan had decided to return Wing Commander Abhinandan to India following his capture after his jet crashed in Pakistani territory during a dogfight after the Balakot airstrike in February 2019.
Now, posters have come up in Ayaz Sadiq's own constituency showing him sporting the same mustache as IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan. Some of these posters also carry the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an effort to paint Sadiq as 'pro-India'.

Referring to Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Ayaz Sadiq had said that Qureshi held an important meeting when Wing Commander Abhinandan was in Pakistani custody. At this meeting, Sadiq claimed, Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said that India would attack Pakistan "that night by 9 pm" if Abhinandan was not released.
Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa's "legs were shaking" after Shah Mehmood Qureshi made this statement, Ayaz Sadiq claimed.
"I remember Shah Mahmood Qureshi was in the meeting in which Imran Khan had refused to attend and Chief of Army Staff General Bajwa came into the room, his legs were shaking and he was perspiring. Foreign Minister said for god's sake let Abhinandan go, India's about to attack Pakistan at 9 pm," PML(N) MP Ayaz Sadiq had said in a speech in Pakistan's National Assembly.
