Kings XI Punjab star Chris Gayle lit up IPL 2020 with his batting prowess while keeping KXIP in the contention of playoffs. However, KXIP became the second team to get knocked out after a 9-wicket thrashing at the hands of Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi.

Chris Gayle on Monday came up with a heartfelt request as he urged the fans to watch the remaining matches of season despite KXIP getting knocked out of IPL 2020, the season-ending early for the Universe Boss. "Plz continue to watch @IPL even though my season has come to an end. Thank you Smiling face with smiling eyes #UniverseBoss," Gayle wrote on his official Twitter handle.

Chris Gayle suffered a stomach bug and did not play in the first seven matches of IPL 2020. However, he returned with a bang in the next seven games, hammering 3 fifties at 41.14 while maintaining a strike rate of 137.14, making up 288 runs. With the veteran back in the eleven, KXIP romped to five victories out of seven; however, the damage was too much to recover from.

Gayle is one of the cleanest hitters off the ball and when his bat does the talking he is hard to be stopped. The veteran has established himself as a powerful striker of the ball not only for his national team but also in franchise leagues across the world. Today, there is hardly any league left, where Gayle has not made his presence felt.
