Despite having a great start to their IPL 2020 campaign, with wins in their first couple of fixtures, Steve Smith’s Rajasthan Royals have found themselves in a state of unrest with the recent 4 matches ending in a defeat. RR are scheduled to play David Warner’s Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, on Sunday, October 11.
Rajasthan Royals worrying run has been detrimental to their campaign and captain Steve Smith has pointed out that it was indeed the top-order batting that fell short in the last 4 games. He has stressed on the need for the top 4 batsmen, including himself, to stand up front and bounce back into form against Hyderabad.
“It’s been a difficult four games for us. We’ve not been able to get in the performances under pressure and that has hurt us. We bowled and fielded well for large parts of the game against Delhi and that’s a positive for us. Our batting needs to click for us, we have not been able to get a good start in our four games and the top four just haven’t been able to score a lot of runs in games, which has been detrimental for us and we’ll have to address that and try to bounce back from this situation,” Steve Smith said ahead of SRH clash.
“The games are coming in thick and fast so we need to adjust quickly and put on our best show against a strong Sunrisers team who’ve got a good overall team, we’ll have to be at our very best to beat them.”
Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will play the day game on a double header day of IPL 2020.
