Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner won the toss against Virat Kohli, captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on November 6, Friday. By doing so, he won the toss for the 11th time in the IPL 2020 season. That’s the most by an IPL captain in one season, in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Apart from David Warner, in IPL editions with 8 teams, only Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma (in IPL 2017) and Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni (in IPL 2018) have matched up to the SRH skipper’s 11 matches won. Incidentally, Rohit Sharma went on to win the IPL 2017 edition for MI and in 2018, CSK coming back from their IPL exile, went on to win the IPL 2018 title.

Captains at the toss

"We will bowl first. Dew could play an effect, the last couple of games say so. But the wicket will not change a lot. We are under no pressure, it already started a couple of games back. Unfortunately, Saha misses out with an injury, Goswami replaces him. The trophy means a lot for us, the owners and the fans back home," Warner said after winning the toss.

"It could go both ways, we would have bowled first. But runs on the board could prove crucial. The last game opened up completely when you haven't qualified, the nerves will come. It's an exciting time, it's been a pleasure to play here. The seniors will have to take up responsibility, let the youngsters play freely. The youngsters have done it, rose to the occasion several times this season. Chris Morris misses out with a quad injury, Joshua Phillipe is out as well. Aaron Finch is back, so is Adam Zampa. Saini replaces Shahbaz Ahmed," Kohli said at the toss.
